Overview Of Ball Mill

The ball mill is a key equipment to grind the crushed materials, and the ball mill is widely used in powder-making production line including cement, silicate, new-type building material, refractory material, fertilizer, ore dressing of ferrous metal and non-ferrous metal, glass ceramics, etc, and the ball mill can grind various ores and other materials with dry type and wet type. There are two kinds of ball mill, grate type and overfall type due to different ways of discharging material.

Ball Millis are widely applied in cement industry, chemical industry, new building materials, fire-resistant materials, fertilizer, porcelain and glass industry for grinding iron ore, gold ore, concrete, slag, zinc, copper ore, tantalite, etc. It has two ways of grinding: dry process and wet process.

Ball Mill is made up of feeding part, discharging part, gyre part, transmission part (reducer, small transmission gear, motor, and electrical controller) and so on.

Working Principle Of Ball Mill

Ball mill is a horizontal rotating device transmitted by outside gear. Material is transferred to grinding chamber through the quill shaft uniformly. There are ladder liner and ripple liner with different specifications of steel balls in the chamber. The centrifugal force caused by rotation of barrel brings the steel balls to a certain height to impact and grind the material. The ground material is discharged through the discharging board, thus the grinding process is finished.

Maintenance Of Ball Mill

1. Fine maintenance & repair, mainly inspect the oil amount, adjust the gap between different parts, firm the bolt, replace the impact plate or inspect the wearing of impact plate, mend the feeder;
2. Minor maintenance & repai rinspect the wearing of the tooth surface and the impact plate, replace it when necessary;
3. Medium maintenance & repair: replace the spare parts of the feeding opening, replace the transmission pinion and bearing ,disassembly the reducer for inspection. Big gear can be adjusted according to different situation, hollow shaft should be measured after 3-5 years’ operation;
4. Large maintenance & repair: disassembly the whole machine for washing, measuring , and replace or mend the big gear ,hollow shaft,bowl liner, transmission shaft , pinion and shell according to the wearing of the spare parts.After large maintenance, the machine must experience preoperation before it works.
